From earliest times, the village of Lumio was the centre of a cult dedicated to the solar star. The Romans christened the mountain " Ortus Solis", the area where the sun rises.Situated around its big baroque church, this large village with lots of character, forms a crescent above the marvellous Calvi gulf.
